Recruitment of firefighter and firefighter/paramedic candidates
(updated 4/2/2007)

Clark County Fire District 6 (CCFD6) has contracted with Public Safety Testing to conduct the written and physical ability tests for the department. The test results are then sent to Fire District 6 twice per year and an eligibility/hiring list is maintained.

For more information, please visit www.PublicSafetyTesting.com or call them toll-free at 866-HIRE-911. Fire District 6 has recruiting cards provided on the front counter at Station 61 for interested walk-in candidates.

Once on the website at www.PublicSafetyTesting.com:
  • Applicants can apply online with Fire District 6.
  • Applicants can also apply with other fire agencies that are using Public Safety Testing.
  • Applicants can obtain information about each agency, such as department and community information, salary, benefits, how many vacancies, any special requirements an agency may have, etc.
  • Applicants can obtain information about the written and physical ability examinations and will be sent a study guide after they register.
  • Applicants will be able to choose a written testing date or location most convenient for them. Tests are offered frequently at various locations around the state. The firefighter physical ability test (CPAT) is conducted in June & December.
  • Tests are not conducted online.
After the applicants have tested, and if they pass both the written and physical ability tests, their scores are sent to Fire District 6.

When a vacancy occurs, Fire District 6 will conduct further testing/screening of a selected number of applicants.
