The Clark County Fire Cadet Program, including Clark County Fire Districts 11, 6, 3, 1 and Vancouver Fire Department will be sponsoring a Fire and Emergency Medical Services college fair on Friday, February 17th, 2006 from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Water Resource Center located at 4600 SE Columbia Way in Vancouver.
The purpose of this event is to gather regional colleges in one place in order to provide those interested in a career in the fire or emergency medical services fields with the resources they need to make informed decisions about their education. This type of event is unprecedented in the emergency services field in the Portland metropolitan area.
Representatives from Bates Technical College, Columbia Basin College, Chemeketa Community College, Lower Columbia College, Northwest Regional Training Center, OHSU, Olympic College, Portland Community College, Skagit Valley College, Washington State Training Academy, and Western Oregon University will be on hand to assist anyone interested in a career in an emergency services-related field. Students from Clark County and Portland metro area high schools along with explorer and cadet programs have been invited to attend.
"This is a great opportunity for individuals to acquire fire and emergency medical services program information from multiple education sources all in one place." said Captain Abe Rommel, Fire District 11.
