44th Annual Hazel Dell Parade of Bands
Fire District 6 has a long history of assisting with the Hazel Dell Parade of Bands in its 44 years of marching. Sponsored by the Hazel Dell/Salmon Creek Business Association, this parade may be billed as the “Parade of Bands” but it is a whole lot more. Last year’s parade boasted over 135 entries including 24 middle and high school bands. Other entries included equestrian displays, antique cars, fire engines, local politicians, Boy and Girl Scout groups, businesses, and much more. This year’s theme, “Music Man” is sure to bring some great entries.

The parade takes place on Saturday, May 17th, 2008 and begins at 10:30 a.m. The parade route begins at Fire District 6’s main station, located at 8800 NE Hazel Dell Avenue, and marches south to NE 63rd Street, extending east from there to Highway 99, and then north to 78th Street. Plan to stake out your parade-viewing area early as roads close at approximately 10:00 a.m.

Would you like to be more than a spectator? Pick up a parade registration form at our station on Hazel Dell Avenue or from the Hazel Dell/Salmon Creek Business Association web site at www.hdscba.org. Registration forms are available beginning March 1st and must be returned to the station by May 12th.
