Your Board of Fire Commissioners
Fire District 6 was established in 1954 by a vote of the citizens of the community. It is governed by three elected Fire Commissioners who serve staggered six year terms. Commissioners must live within the boundaries of Fire District 6.

What exactly does a Fire Commissioner do?
Board members of Clark County Fire District 6 carry a great deal of responsibility.
  • The Board manages the affairs of the fire protection district and obtains facilities, equipment and personnel to perform the services provided by the district.
  • The Board establishes the level of services provided.
  • The Board establishes policies under which the district operates.
  • The Board insures the district operates within statutory requirements.
  • The Board selects the Fire Chief and delegates authority to manage day-to-day operations of the Fire District.

Your Fire Commissioners are:

Board Chairman, Dick Spring

Serving since 2004. Dick Spring was elected to the remaining two years of an open 6 year position in the Fall of 2003. Citizens of Fire District 6 elected Commissioner Spring to a full six year term beginning in January 2006.





Commissioner, Casey Collins

Serving since 2002. Casey Collins was appointed to serve on the Board of Fire Commissioners for Clark County Fire District 6 in October 2002 to fill a position vacancy. Citizens of Fire District 6 elected Mr. Collins to serve a six year term beginning in January 2004.




Commissioner Dean Bloemke

Dean Bloemke was appointed to a vacancy on the board on May 10, 2007. He is a long-time (36+ years) volunteer Captain with the department and has been employed in the maintenance division since 2001. He was elected to a full six year term beginning in January 2008.







Fire Commissioners meet on the first and third Tuesday of every month at the main fire station located at 8800 NE Hazel Dell Avenue. Meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. in the northwest corner of the fire station. These meetings are open to the public. For additional information, please contact us at (360) 576-1195.
